Modular Chunks is the planning, delegation and verification platform for AI coding agents, operated by Nabeel El-dughailib, a sole proprietor doing business as Modular Labs, at 280 Fairlawn Dr, Berkeley, CA 94708, United States ("we", "us"). This policy covers modularchunks.com, the Modular Chunks platform, the chunky CLI and MCP server, and the Ask Chunky Chrome extension.
We collect only what we need to run the platform for you:
- Account details: your name, email address, and password (stored hashed), or your Google account details if you sign in with Google.
- Access requests: what you tell us when you request access, such as where you build and what you want to build.
- Project inputs: your answers to HITL questions, briefs, PRDs, architecture decisions, chunks, approvals and change requests.
- Codebase information: when you run commands like
chunky auditorchunky upload, the file structure and code you choose to send so we can plan against your existing build. - Usage data: how you use the platform, such as pages visited, commands run and errors, so we can fix problems and improve it.
- Billing details: handled by our payment processor. We see your plan and payment status, not your full card number.
- To run your pipeline: planning, delegation and verification of your projects.
- To review access requests and onboard you during the closed beta.
- To provide support, and to send service emails about your account.
- To send product news, blog posts or frameworks, only if you subscribed to them.
- To keep the platform secure and to diagnose problems.
We don't sell your data, and we don't train shared models on your private code or project inputs.
We share data only with providers that help us run the platform, under agreements that limit their use of it:
- Hosting and infrastructure: to store and serve the platform: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Trigger.dev and Inngest (background jobs), Upstash (rate limiting), Sentry (error reports), PostHog (product analytics) and Resend (email).
- AI model providers: to run the planning and verification steps on your project inputs: Anthropic and Google (Gemini), and OpenAI for voice transcription.
- Billing: LemonSqueezy, our merchant of record, processes payments and refunds. Your name, email, billing address and card details go directly to LemonSqueezy and are not stored on our servers; we keep only the subscription identifiers needed to check your plan. See lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
- Sign-in: Google, if you choose Continue with Google.
Your AI coding agent (for example Claude Code or Cursor) is a tool you choose and connect yourself. What you send it is covered by that provider's own terms.
The Ask Chunky extension talks only to modularchunks.com. Your CLI token is stored in your browser using chrome.storage.local, and the extension never scrapes or reads pages on its own. It only sends text you select and choose to ask Chunky about.
It also sends anonymous usage events (for example "chunk copied"), with no message bodies, clipboard or page contents. It asks for four permissions: sidePanel for the panel, storage for your token and base URL, activeTab to read the title and address of the tab you're on while the panel is open, and contextMenus for "Ask Chunky about this".
We keep your account and project data while your account is open. When you delete a project or close your account, we delete the associated data within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal or billing reasons.
- Export your project data at any time.
- Delete individual projects, or close your account and delete your data.
- Correct your account details.
- Unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in it.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as to access, restrict or object to processing. To use them, contact us at support@modularchunks.com.
We protect your data with access controls, encryption in transit, and role-based access inside the platform. Your code stays in your own repository; we only receive what you choose to send. No system is perfectly secure, and if we become aware of a breach affecting your data we will tell you promptly.
We use first-party cookies for sign-in (the Supabase session). No third-party tracking cookies and no advertising cookies. We don't use tracking pixels, fingerprinting or behavioural ads.
Modular Chunks is not directed at children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, do not create an account.
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top and tell you by email or in the platform before the change takes effect.
Questions about this policy or your data: support@modularchunks.com, through Support, or by post to 280 Fairlawn Dr, Berkeley, CA 94708, United States.
