Who operates Modular Chunks

Modular Chunks is operated by Nabeel El-dughailib, a sole proprietor doing business as Modular Labs, at 280 Fairlawn Dr, Berkeley, CA 94708, United States. In these terms, "Modular Labs," "we," "us," and "our" refer to this sole proprietorship.

What you can do

• Use Modular Chunks under your plan — a free tier remains available during the beta.
• Generate briefs, architectures, PRDs, blueprints, and chunks for any product idea you own or have permission to build.
• Export your project data at any time via the Download menu (PDF / HTML / JSON).
• Use the CLI to drive your own coding agent through the chunk pipeline.

What you cannot do

• Use the platform to plan or build illegal products, malware, harassment tooling, or anything designed to harm.
• Abuse the AI endpoints (e.g., automated scraping that exhausts shared LLM credits during the beta).
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or republish the platform's generated outputs as a competing service without an explicit licence.
• Misrepresent your identity, impersonate Modular Labs staff, or claim platform endorsement you do not have.

Ownership

• Your inputs are yours. The brief you write, the architecture you confirm, and the chunks you approve are owned by you.
• The platform is ours. The pipeline, design system, CLI, MCP server, knowledgebase, and Modular Labs marks are owned by Modular Labs.
• AI-generated content. Chunks, blueprints, and code instructions produced by the pipeline are licensed to you for use in your project. They're generated by third-party LLMs (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI) — review before shipping.

Payments & merchant of record

• What you can buy. Paid subscription plans (billed monthly or annually) that include a monthly allowance of AI-generation tokens, and one-time pay-as-you-go token top-ups for usage beyond that allowance. These are licences to use our hosted software; nothing is transferred or resold.
• Merchant of record. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy handles the transaction, invoicing, and any applicable sales tax or VAT, and appears on your statement. Your purchase is also subject to Lemon Squeezy's terms.
• Refunds. New paid subscriptions can be refunded within 14 days of the first charge — see the Refund policy. Consumed tokens and one-time top-ups are non-refundable.
• Cancellation. You can cancel a subscription at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period.

Beta caveats

• No SLA. Uptime is best-effort during the beta.
• Schema changes. Stage outputs may evolve; use the JSON export as a checkpoint.
• Data may be migrated or reset. We will give 14 days' notice before any destructive change.
• Paid plans are live. Subscription plans and token top-ups are available (see Payments & merchant of record). A free tier remains during the beta; free accounts will not be billed without explicit opt-in.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time via Account settings (post-launch) or by contacting support. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms — we'll tell you why and let you export your data first.

Liability

The platform is provided "as is" during the beta. Modular Labs is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, or loss of data beyond the value of the fees you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow liability limitations — your statutory rights are not affected.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California.
